CAMPAIGN TERMS & CONDITIONS

Dove aims to spotlight authentic beauty by featuring real individuals from diverse backgrounds, encouraging self-expression and inclusivity. This initiative seeks to move away from conventional unified beauty standards, empowering participants to embrace their unique qualities and share their stories as part of a broader global conversation (“Campaign”). Through the campaign, Dove reaffirms its commitment to promoting positive self-image and celebrating the individuality of every person.

As part of this campaign, Dove will actively seek and feature images and stories from real individuals who represent a wide spectrum of backgrounds and experiences. These submissions may be showcased in Dove's marketing communications, such as advertisements, social media content, and promotional materials, to highlight authentic beauty and individual self-expression. The campaign will serve as a platform for participants to share their stories and inspire others globally, reinforcing Dove's commitment to positive self-image and diversity.

The Dove open call Campaign is a global Dove initiative celebrating real, diverse beauty and challenging standardised beauty ideals. Participants are invited to submit an image of themselves for potential inclusion in Dove communications as part of the Campaign.

Participation does not guarantee that a submitted image will be selected or used.

Image selection is entirely at Unilever’s discretion.

The Campaign is not a competition, prize draw or lottery, and no purchase or payment is required.

No remuneration or compensation will be provided for participation or image use.

Unilever will actively use images for the duration of Campaign and will keep images as part of the brand archiving purposes afterwards. 

7. Grant of Rights

Use of submitted images is governed by the Image Licence Agreement, which forms an integral part of these Terms & Conditions and can be found below. In the event of any inconsistency, the Image Licence Agreement shall prevail with respect to image usage rights.

8. Withdrawal and Removal

Participants may request withdrawal from future use by contacting Unilever via the details provided on the Campaign platform. 

Please note that removal may not be possible where materials have already been published, printed or distributed.

9. Data Protection

Personal data will be processed in accordance with Unilever’s Privacy Notice, available at: Privacy Notice | Unilever Legal

Your data will be used solely for purposes connected with the Campaign and handled in compliance with applicable data‑protection laws. 

10. Use of AI

As part of this campaign, Unilever may use an automated image analysis tool using artificial intelligence (AI) to support the review of images submitted by participants.

The AI tool will be used solely for verification and moderation purposes, specifically to:

Unilever reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Campaign at any time where necessary. 

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

 

IMAGE LICENCE AGREEMENT FOR DOVE OPEN CALL CAMPAIGN

This Image Licence Agreement (“Agreement”) is between:

“Company”: Unilever PLC (owner of the Dove brand)

You (“Talent”): A participant in the Dove Open Call campaign 

1. About the Campaign

Therefore, Dove is hosting an open casting call to celebrate real and diverse beauty, countering standardised standards often driven by social media, filters, and AI (“Campaign”).

By submitting your image, you are taking part in this Campaign.

2. Participation and Agreement 

By uploading your image (“Image”) to the Campaign page, you:

3. Licence to Use Your Image 

You grant Unilever and its group companies a worldwide, royalty‑free, irrevocable licence to use your Image, including your likeness and any visible attributes, for the purposes of the Campaign for a period of five (5) years from first use of the Image.

This includes use across all media, including:

After the expiry of the five‑year period, Unilever may retain the Image solely for internal record‑keeping, compliance, audit and archival purposes, but shall not use the Image for any further external or active marketing, advertising or promotional purposes.

Unilever is not required to use your Image. 

No payment will be made for the use of your Image

In exchange for the rights you grant under this Agreement, you are given the opportunity to participate in a global Dove Campaign and to have your Image considered for inclusion in Dove communications.

You agree that this opportunity is sufficient value in return for the rights you grant under this Agreement.

4. Editing and Changes 

Unilever may edit or adapt your Image (for example, cropping or adding subtitles) for Campaign purposes.

We will not make changes that materially misrepresent you.

To the extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights in the Image.

You agree to keep any non-public Campaign information confidential; and confirm that you are not aware of any conduct that could reasonably harm Dove’s reputation in connection with the Campaign.

9. Governing Law 

This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. 

The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
